Even though he can't move into the White House just yet, he still get's to have a good look at it until he can. President Elect Obama moved to DC two weeks earlier than his scheduled date of 1/15 so that his daughters could start school at Sidwell friends right after the winter break. So until he gets to move in he's lamping in the good ole Hay Adams presidential suite.
The Hay-Adams pent-house suite is usually rented out anywhere between $2,500-$5,000 per night. I am pretty sure that the Obamas have that whole floor to themselves and we know they didn't drop a dime. The living room overlooks the White House, Lafayette Park, and St John’s Church. The master bedroom overlooks the magnificent White House.
