Well I must admit, I like the way Ross is handling this situation with ole 50 cent. He called up a few of 50's past enemies for part 2 to Mafia Music. Check inside to see who came through
Lil Wayne isn’t a fan of his music being stolen. Making that sentiment insanely clear during an interview with Foundation Magazine, a publication catered directly to the mixtape culture, Weezy called out all mixtape DJ's for creating mixtapes that feature his material without his proper consent. In another interview with popular mixtape DJ, DJ Drama, Lil Wanye then retracts his statements and aims them directly at The Empire for unlawfully producing the popular mixtape series, The Drought Is Over. In this two part series, BET.com sat down with The Empire to find out exactly how they managed to put together a five part mixtape series without even meeting Lil Wayne, an encounter they have yet to experience till this very day. Following each description, The Empire explains the pressure received from "The Best Rapper Alive" and his inner circle in our "Wayne Watch" blurb.
BET.Com: The Drought Is Over Part 1
The Empire: Drought 1 came about from an actual Lil Wayne mixtape that I got from a promo guy at Cash Money. During that time, he was on tour with Jim Jones and they were handing out a double CD, but no one had it. The Drought Is Over Part 1 was a simple one.
Wayne Watch: No one from their camp noticed anything yet.
BET.Com: The Drought Is Over Part 2
The Empire: The Drought 2 was the big one. A kid started leaking records online and my man hit me telling me there’s this kid who has The Carter 3. He worked with Wayne and told me that he [Wayne] wasn’t working with DJ Drama anymore. [Editors note: DJ Drama was responsible for Lil Wayne’s Dedication mixtape series]. Wayne was looking for someone to do mixtapes with, but he was on tour so he couldn’t do it himself. The kid was searching for people to do it with and basically asked me for money in advance for the cd, so I gave him an undisclosed amount of money and he sent me 12 records. Read the rest here!!
Now I battled against myself all day long whether or not to put this song up! I know I know it should have been a no brainer to post it!! Forgive me!! But DMV's own, Pro verb stood up for Deshawn Stevenson and fired back at Hov for the Blow the Whistle freestyle with his own version of PSA. He brought the heat on this track and needs to be heard around the country!! D Steve you need to throw this boy a stack, a chain, or something!! He held you down homie!! Check it out.
Deshawn Stevenson of the Washington Wizards made those ill-advised statements about Lebron James and he got more than Lebron a little hype!! Jay got the boost to step in the booth on Friday and have the song in D.C. in time to play it in LOVE nightclub for the Cavs vs. Wizards after party hosted by Lebron James!! I'm still confused at how a DJ here in DC would play a diss song about a Washington Wizard!! Lebron must have threw him a little ink! They say the Wizards are boycotting LOVE and Park now behind this. Well I guess they'll be boycotting Too Hood 4 Hollywood too because here you go!! Sorry D Steve, but I fucks with Jay and Bron and you was out of pocket calling Bron overrated!!! Jay killing them with the Crooks n Castles by the way!! (Crooks Lambo Jacket / Castellano Mosley Tribes x Crooks Sunglasses / Crooks High Society Tee)
"Who the fucks overrated? If anything they underpaid em, Hatin....that's only gonna make him, spend a night out of spite wit the chick you been datin"
Shout out to them boys over @ Eighty81 for the track!!
Lil Kim has been engaged in a small war of words with Remy Ma lately. But some wonder where this beef began. The Queen Bee was on Sirius with DJ Whoo Kid to discuss the origins of this beef and made sure to let it be known that she is still the woman who runs the rap game.
“Everybody that knows me knows that I don’t just come at nobody for no reason,” Kim began with a disclaimer of sorts and added that she shows love to women who step into this business. “It all started when I got the 5 mics (in The Source magazine), she all on the radio talking reckless ‘fuck that son, my shit hotter than hers.’ Come on ma! This is what I do. Biggie crowned me Queen Bee and you can’t take that from me.” But it wasn’t just the one incident that incited Kim. “When I got locked up she was talking reckless again on the radio but when I got home she at my party,” she continued. “I brushed that off and let a lot of shit slide but enough is enough. That’s where it is. I ain’t even gonna dedicate anymore time to that.” The interview found Kim making a mockery of her so-called competition “That can’t even be competition because I’m a female, that’s a man.” She went on to mention that men she’s around would rather have sexual relations with a transvestite over Remy. “Everything she do got too much testosterone,” she jabbed.
In the meanwhile, Kim will have a role in the upcoming Sex in the City movie and is still working on her new album which is scheduled for a Spring release.
